This new high school designed by Symmes Maini & McKee Associates was the optimal solution for updated facilities and 95,000+ SF of additional space. The design overcame challenges including wetlands, flood plain, and preserving parkland. An intensive programming workshop with multiple community constituencies helped the team create a range of schemes meeting the School Committee's standards and the needs of the Town. The final result includes two and three story massing in red brick and stone trim similar to the original. Existing artifacts, plaques, and furnishings are to be incorporated along with a clock tower, which has symbolized the Wellesley Senior High School for over seven decades.
